On February 24, the Seminar on the Construction of Henan Institute of Flexible Electronics Technology was held at Zhengzhou Campus. The conference invited Wei Huang, dean of the Henan Institute of Flexible Electronics Technology and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as 16 representatives from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Nanjing Tech University and other units to attend for exchanges of important affairs related to the Institute. It was also attended by responsible personnel from the Organization Department of Henan Provincial Party Committee, the Department of Science and Technology of Henan Province, and the Management Committee of the Zhongyuan Science and Technology City, as well as Keping Lu, secretary of the Party Committee of HENU, Suojiang Zhang, president of HENU, Zhen Tan, vice president of HENU, and heads of relevant functional departments, colleges and scientific research institutions. The meeting was presided over by Zhen Tan.

At the Seminar, Zhen Tan introduced the history and current situation of HENU, as well as the progress it has made since being selected into the "Double First-Class" Initiative. She expressed that HENU would make an active effort to serve and strengthen cooperation with relevant cities and enterprises under the leadership of Academician Wei Huang, to achieve major original innovations and technological breakthroughs, working to build the Institute into an innovation center in the field of flexible electronics.

Academician Wei Huang introduced the current situation of the industry in development, achievements, and team organization. He pointed out that the Institute would put more efficient effort to develop major scientific research projects, and attract outstanding talents from home and abroad to further advance the construction of the Institute, building it into a world-class high-end innovation platform that features "basic research - technology development - pilot test incubation - industrial application".

Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government agreed to provide an area of about 40,000 square meters in Zhongyuan Science and Technology City to support the experiment and office work of the Institute, ensuring the smooth operation of the Institute. Focusing on the frontiers of science and technology in flexible electronics and advanced materials, the Institute will pay more attention to basic research, technology development and achievement transformation. That will greatly promote the development of basic disciplines in HENU, including chemistry, materials science and physics.
