The 11th National College Students’ GIS Application Skills Competition was hosted by China Association Geospatial Industry and Sciences and the Geographical Society of China at Chengdu University of Technology from November 18 to 20, 2022. Guided by Bin Li, Hongquan Song and Hui Zheng, students from the College of Geography and Environmental Science, including Xinyue Yang, Zihan Ren and Ru Ming in the Class of 2019 and Shu Quan in the Class of 2020, joined in the Competition on behalf of Henan University. Through fierce competition, they finally won the first prize.
Attracting a total of 180 groups from colleges and universities nationwide, the Competition was held to examine students’ spatial data acquisition ability, integration processing skills and application of spatial analysis technology. This Competition helped develop students’ ability to apply GIS skills to practical problems, and advanced students’ professional application ability, employment competence, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship ability.
