The School of Mathematics and Statistics held an academic workshop on Differential Equations and Biomathematics from November 12 to 13, 2022. Sixteen experts and scholars from the University of Miami, Lanzhou University, Central South University, Southwest University, Shaanxi Normal University, Shanxi University, South University of Science and Technology were invited to give talks at the workshop. The workshop was held online and more than 150 faculties and students participated.

Professor Xiaosen HAN, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, gave a speech at the opening ceremony. He warmly welcomed the experts and scholars attending the meeting and hoped they would support the development of differential equations and biomathematics of Henan University.

At the workshop, the invited experts reported the latest progresses of differential equations and biomathematics. Topics included the adaptability of the original equations of multiphase wet atmosphere and data assimilation, the dynamic changes of non-local models with seasonal and free boundaries, propagation dynamics of nonlocal diffusion competitive systems in a habitat with periodic changes in time and other related frontier issues in biomathematics. The participants warmly discussed and exchanged the relevant issues involved. The workshop provides a platform for experts and scholars in differential equations and biomathematics to share their recent research directions and results.

The successful holding of the workshop will strongly promote the development of biomathematics and related disciplines of Henan University.
