Gareth Hoar, the British Consul-General in Wuhan, visited the Zhengzhou Campus of Henan University accompanied by Bing LI, Deputy Director-General of Foreign Affairs Office of People’s Government of Henan Province, Hengzhen XU, Vice Director-General of Department of Education of Henan Province, and Ming CAI, President of Henan Conchid Education Technology Group on September 29, 2021. In Zhengzhou Campus of Henan University, they met with Zhen TAN, Vice President of Henan University and several main leaders from the International Affairs Office and the Construction and Management Committee of Longzihu Campus. The meeting was presided over by Liqun MAO, Director of the International Affairs Office.

Zhen TAN said that this year is the first year of the "14th Five-Year Plan" and it also marks the beginning of second cycle of "Double First-Class" construction of Henan University. The University has formulated a special plan for international development to accelerate and expand international cooperation and exchanges, promoting all of its undertakings to a new level. It is hoped that the visit of Mr. Hoar will effectively promote the cooperation between Henan University and British universities and bring mutual benefit for both parties.

Mr. Gareth Hoar conveyed that British government attached great importance to the exchange of education and scientific technology between China and Britain. The British Consulate in Wuhan will work to support the cooperation between Warwick University and Henan University. It is hoped that exchanges between two parties could be improved through this visit.

Ming CAI, Hengzhen XU and Bing LI expressed that they will continue to strengthen educational exchanges between China and Britain, vigorously support the cooperation between Henan University and British universities to boost the "Double First-Class" construction of Henan University.

Junwei ZHANG, Deputy Director of the Construction and Management Committee of Zhengzhou Campus, all, introduced the planning and construction of the Zhengzhou Campus. Afterwards, Mr. Gareth Hoar and his entourage visited the Zhengzhou Campus.
