On May 22^nd, the 2^nd Modernization of Local Governance Forum was held in Jinming Campus, HENU. This forum, themed "modernization of national governance and reformation of local governance”, was co-organized by College of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University, School of Philosophy and Public Management of HENU, and co-sponsored by Comparison of Economic and Social Systems and Academic Monthly. More than 30 scholars from National School of Administration, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University and other domestic universities participated in the forum.

Shuxia FENG, Vice President of HENU, said that local governance is an important part of the national governance system and governance capacity. She hoped that the forum would provide suggestions for the research on the modernization of local governance and the local development of Henan Province.

Xiaojin ZHANG, Director of Department of Political Science of School of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, said that we should pay attention to "digital government research", especially the new changes brought about by digitalization for the modernization of local governance.

Yuyan JIA, deputy editor in chief of Central Compilation and Translation Press, and Xunda YU, a professor of Zhejiang University, delivered speeches as a co-organizer and a conference representative respectively.

The experts and scholars held academic discussions on five topics, namely "party building and local governance modernization", "urban governance modernization", "local governance from multi-dimensional perspective", "Reformation of local government" and "academic writing of local governance". The academic forum will promote the development of related disciplines in HENU, and promote the research of "modernization of local governance".
