With the support of the Kaifeng Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, Henan University(HENU) signed a strategic cooperation agreement on "Co-construction of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) Hospital of HENU" on November 6, 2019. In the following year, the Kaifeng Municipal Government, HENU and Kaifeng TCM Hospital have actively promoted in-depth cooperation.

On the morning of November 3, 2020, the inauguration ceremony of "TCM Hospital of HENU" and "TCM Academy of HENU" was held at the south gate of Kaifeng TCM Hospital.

In his speech, ZHOU Guanghui, Secretary of the party committee of Kaifeng TCM Hosptial, stated that the co-construction of "TCM Hosptial of HENU" and "TCM Academy of HENU" is a major measure taken by the Kaifeng Municipal Government to optimize allocation of resources and promote the coordinated development of medical treatment and education. With congratulations to HENU, he stressed that it was an important opportunity to enrich the discipline system and a boost to the development our first-class discipline.

SUN Junjian, Vice President of HENU, emphasized that, HENU and Kaifeng TCM Hospital will innovate the mode of integration of medical teaching, research and production, improve the level of scientific research in hospitals promote the construction of disciplines, and enhance the cultivation of TCM talents.

LIU Hanzheng, Head of the Organization Department of the Kaifeng Municipal Party Committee, said that Kaifeng City and HENU will deepen the consensus on integration and development, and establish an efficient working mechanism.

ZHANG Zhimin, Deputy Director of Health Commission of Henan Province, hoped that Kaifeng Government and HENU will further advance the reform of medical education and the innovation in cooperation carriers, platforms and projects through deepening the collaborative development of medical education.
