On September 23, 2020, the opening ceremony of the 2020 High-End Forum on Ecological and High-Quality Development of the Yellow River Basin & the 12th “High-End Forum on Yellow River” was held in Kaiyuan Mingdu Conference Center, Kaifeng, online and offline simultaneously.

Organized by Henan University, the Geographical Society of China, Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research, Development and Reform Commission of Henan Province and Henan Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, the forum was undertaken by Chinese Academy of History, Yellow River Institute of Henan University, Institute of Yellow River Civilization and Sustainable Development of Henan University and Collaborative Innovation Center on Yellow River Civilization.

Nearly 200 representatives and guests from almost 40 organs attended this meeting on site, while more than 30,000 people participated through website. These units at all levels are closely related to the Yellow River civilization, such as Development Research Center of the State Council, Chinese Academy of Science, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Institute of Spatial Planning & Region Economy of National Development and Reform Commission P.R.C, Yellow River Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources, Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research, Shandong Provincial Underwater Archaeology Research Center, Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology, Henan Provincial Institute of Cultural Heritage and Archaeology, Peking University, Shandong University, Hebei University, Zhengzhou University, Henan University and local governments, enterprises and public institutions and the media.
