(August 30th, 2019) The delegation, led by Prof. Freddy Boey, Deputy President of the National University of Singapore, paid a visit to Henan University, and had a meeting with Lu Keping, Party Secretary of Henan University.
On behalf of HENU Lu Keping warmly welcomed Freddy Boey to visit HENU and made a brief introduction to Henan University. According to Lu Keping, Henan University together with the National University of Singapore and other universities in Singapore has been carrying out various forms of exchanges and cooperation for many years, and has achieved gratifying results in various fields, providing in such manner an effective boost to the development of internationalization of education between the two universities. He hoped that this meeting could be taken as an opportunity to focus on teacher-student exchanges, scientific research cooperation and other aspects, so as to further expand the scope and deepen the level of collaboration and jointly make new contributions to internationalization of the two universities.
Freddy Boey expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He emphasized the great importance of cooperation between the National University of Singapore and universities of China, and expressed his hope for constructive and fruitful collaboration between the two universities in the form of strengthening exchanges of teachers and students, further deepening cooperation in transformation of scientific research achievements, as well as developing academic initiatives and entrepreneurship education among students, in order to build a broader platform for partnership between the two sides.
In the afternoon, Liu Xianxing, Vice president of HENU, held a meeting with the guests in the Meeting Room 208 of the Administration Building. The representatives from the International Affairs Office, the School of Science and Technology, the Graduate School, the School of Software Engineering and the Nanomaterial Engineering Research Center attended the meeting.
Liu Xianxing made a presentation of scientific research development of HENU to the guests. He expressed hope that during negotiations the two parties could discuss specific areas and models of cooperation, reach a consensus and develop substantive cooperation at an early date.
At the meeting, representatives of both universities exchanged views on current educational issues and reached preliminary consensus on details of cooperation in scientific research, transformation of scientific research achievements, collaborative training programmes for postgraduates, innovative and entrepreneurship education of students, etc.
