Recently, SUN Junjian, HENU Party Committee member and vice president, met with Prof. Marina BALOVSKAYA, vice minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and Prof. Matthew J. WILSON, former president of University of Akron in the United States.

On October 19th, SUN Junjian met with Marina BALOVSKAYA at the Cultural Center of Russian Embassy in Beijing. SUN Junjian introduced the progress of the cooperation project between universities of China and Russia and the new achievements of HENU in Sino-Russian higher education cooperation and exchange in recent years, saying that HENU would further expand new areas of cooperation with Russian universities. Marina hoped that HENU would continue to innovate ideas and speed up cooperation with Russian universities in joint school-running, academic research and exchanges of teachers and students. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation would continue to provide support and help. They also exchanged views on specific issues of in-depth cooperation of this year and next.

On October 20th, SUN Junjian met with Matthew J. WILSON at Holiday Inn Convention Center in Zhongguancun, Beijing. They reviewed the cooperation and fruitful achievements of the two universities in the past 20 years, hoping to further expand the cooperation between HENU and University of Akron in various fields of Law, especially in the field of intellectual property, and support the construction of HENU School of Intellectual Property. Matthew J. WILSON expressed his appreciation to HENU school leaders for their support for the cooperation in the field of Law, saying that he was willing to provide support for the development of the Intellectual Property specialty and School of Intellectual Property of HENU. Subsequently, people in charge of HENU School of Law and relevant experts discussed specific cooperation matters such as summer school, teachers’ visits, exchanges of students and scientific research cooperation and so on.
