Recently, at the invitation of Macquarie University in Australia and Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand, LIU Xianxing, HENU Party committee member and vice president, went to the two Universities for a friendly visit with the other four people.

At Macquarie University in Australia, LIU Xianxing was warmly received by Nicole BRIGG, vice president of the University, FAN Fan, vice director of the Asia cooperation section of the International Cooperation Department, and Professor Roger CHUNG, dean of the Advanced Medical School. Nicole BRIGG and LIU Xianxing expressed satisfaction with the previous cooperation of the two Universities and signed the school level cooperation agreement.

In New Zealand, LIU Xianxing met with Cushla MATHESON, director of the Department of International Cooperation and Development of Auckland University of Technology. Cushla MATHESON gave a warm welcome to LIU Xianxing. She introduced the history and basic situation of Auckland University of Technology, expressing strong desire to carry out substantive international exchanges and cooperation with Henan University. LIU Xianxing invited Cushla MATHESON and the other heads of the Department of International Cooperation and Development to watch the film of Henan University The Way of the University (English version). He said that international school-running was one of the five major development strategies of HENU and one of the six major construction contents of the “Double First-rate” construction. He briefly introduced the concept and practice of education in promoting the internationalization of HENU, and expressed his views of carrying out international cooperation of the two Universities. He said that HENU and Auckland University of Technology had high similarity in academic settings and scientific research. There was a lot of space for cooperation between the two Universities. He hoped that the two Universities would use their own advantages, to find the point of integration, further deepening exchanges and cooperation in the training of students and scientific research personnel exchanges etc..

During the visit, LIU Xianxing communicated with the alumni working and studying in Australia and New Zealand, informing of the good news of “Double First-rate” construction of HENU and development achievements made in recent years to them, urging the alumni to help promote our talents introduction policy which could promote the construction of first-class teacher team. The alumni heartily congratulated HENU on the gratifying achievements and actively made suggestions for the introduction of talents.

The leaders of HENU Publicity Department of the Party committee, the International Exchange Office, HENU School of Basic Medical Sciences, and HENU School of Computer and Information Engineering were in charge of the visit.
