
Henan University (HENU) convened a Special Meeting on International Development at its Jinming Campus on the afternoon of September 11. Vice Presidents ZHANG Ligang and BAI Ying attended and addressed the meeting. Leadership members and faculty representatives from units including the International Affairs Office, the School of International Education and other relevant units participated in the meeting. The meeting was presided over by SHANG Jin, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office.
The meeting began with reports from heads of various schools on their respective internationalization initiatives. Subsequently, LI Qiuye, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office, presented an overview of HENU’s overall progress in international development, including international research collaboration, along with a brief analysis of current challenges and future development plans.
During the discussion session, participants engaged in thorough exchanges on advancing high-level, quality international cooperation, optimizing the structure of Sino-foreign educational partnerships, and expanding the scale of international exchanges for faculty and students, further consolidating shared perspectives on development priorities.
ZHANG Ligang acknowledged the efforts made by the International Affairs Office and all schools in advancing HENU’s internationalization. He highlighted the remarkable progress achieved in related work over the past year, attributing these accomplishments to the collective dedication across departments, and expressed his wishes for continued breakthroughs in future endeavors.
BAI Ying emphasized that all units should adhere to the “Three Consideration” in international development: first, to consider stability; second, to consider development; and third, to consider contribution. In closing, she called for unified efforts and steadfast confidence to collectively elevate HENU’s international initiatives to new heights.
This meeting represents a significant measure in implementing the guiding principles of HENU’s 2025 Summer Strategic Seminar. It bolsters HENU’s pursuit of becoming a top-tier research-intensive, comprehensive, and globally oriented institution. Additionally, it also advances Henan Province’s strategic goals in innovation-driven development, revitalization through science and education, and talent advancement.
