
At 20:00 Beijing Time on August 15, 2025, Henan University (HENU) held a video conference with Delft University of Technology, Netherlands at the Administrative Building of Jinming Campus. ZHANG Ligang, Vice President of HENU, and Hans Hellendoorn, Vice Rector of Education of Delft University of Technology, Netherlands, attended the meeting. Representatives from relevant units including the International Affairs Office, the Advanced Institute of Finance, and the School of Physics and Electronics were also present. The meeting was presided over by SHANG Jin, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office.
ZHANG Ligang introduced HENU’s historical development and institutional characteristics. He highlighted that HENU has established a new vision to become a top-tier research-intensive, comprehensive, and internationally oriented university, with a strategic focus on enhancing its foundational sciences and humanities while pioneering new interdisciplinary programs in engineering and medical fields. He emphasized HENU’s commitment to deepening collaboration with leading international technological institutions and expressed hope for joint initiatives in artificial intelligence, physics, electronics and other fields, ultimately contributing to global higher education and scientific advancement.
Hans Hellendoorn provided an overview of Delft University of Technology’s educational profile. He conveyed Delft University of Technology’s strong interest in collaborating with HENU and stressed the importance of strengthening mutual understanding while progressively expanding and deepening academic exchanges between faculty and students.
During the discussion session, both sides engaged in in-depth dialogues regarding collaboration frameworks and potential models, reaching consensus on facilitating faculty and student exchanges as well as joint research initiatives.
