Suojiang ZHANG

Prof. Suojiang ZHANG was born in Linzhou City, Henan Province, China, in Nov. 1964. He is the academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), whose research focuses on green energy, new chemical materials and green process engineering. He assumed office as the President of Henan University in June 2022.
Prof. ZHANG received his BS from Henan University in 1986 and MS from Henan Normal University in 1989. In 1994, he received his Ph.D degree from Zhejiang University and later joined Beijing University of Chemical Technology as a postdoctoral fellow. In 1995, he was awarded a Japanese Ministry of Education Scholarship to work with Prof. Kazuo Kojima at Nihon University. In 1997, he joined Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation of Japan as a senior scientist. In 2001, he was selected as “Hundred Talents Program of CAS” and joined in Institute of Process Engineering (IPE), CAS. In 2006, he was awarded the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) for Distinguished Young Scholars. From 2008 to 2010, he served as the Executive Deputy Director of IPE, CAS, and since 2010 as Director of IPE, CAS. In 2015, he was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2017, he established the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of CAS and served as the founding dean. In 2019, he established the Innovation Academy for Green Manufacture, CAS, and served as the first dean.
