Yueyao Li of HENU wins the Sanda championship in the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou


On September 28, the finals of Sanda of the 19th Asian Games were held. Yueyao Li, a graduate student of HENU, won the women’s 52kg martial arts Sanda championship.


Yuchen Miao, vice president of HENU and director of the Sports Committee, attended the Games to cheer for Yueyao Li. According to him, Yueyao Li had comprehensive skills, a tough style, rich competition experience and a strong mind, which allowed her to defend her title successfully.


Yueyao Li started her practice of martial arts at Tagou Martial Arts School at the age of 13. In 2009, she was selected into the Henan Provincial Sanda Team and in 2013, she was selected into the National Sanda Team. She is currently a master's student jointly trained by HENU and Kyungil University, South Korea. Over the past 10 years, Yueyao Li has won championships in domestic and foreign competitions, such as the national championships, championship games, National Games, and World Cup.
