Shenglei Fu meets with the delegation of the South African Prominent Young Leader Training Program


On the morning of August 23, a seven-member delegation of the South African Prominent Young Leader Training Program visited Henan University (HENU). Vice President Shenglei Fu received the guests in the small auditorium of Minglun Campus, accompanied by Bao Liu, Director of the Asia and Africa Division of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Henan Party Committee, Zi Wang, Deputy Director of the Asia and Africa Division of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Henan Party Committee, and Weichao Wang, Deputy Director of the Kaifeng Foreign Affairs Office. The meeting was chaired by Xiangqian Guo, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office, and attended by relevant leaders of the College of Chinese Language and Literature and the International School for Chinese Language and Culture.


Shenglei Fu extended a warm welcome to the arrival of the delegation. He introduced the basic situation of HENU and the current situation of education for international students. He hoped that the visit of South African friends could enhance educational cooperation and exchanges between HENU and South Africa and contribute to the cooperation and friendship between China and South Africa.


Bao Liu introduced the educational exchanges and cooperation between Henan Province and South Africa. She expressed her hope that through this training, more outstanding young people in South Africa would learn about Henan and HENU, thereby promoting educational exchanges and cooperation between HENU and South Africa.


On behalf of the delegation, Bonolo Mothobi, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the North Western Province of South Africa, expressed her gratitude to HENU for its warm reception. She hoped to cooperate with HENU in Chinese language teaching and the construction of a martial arts center.


The South African Prominent Young Leader Training Program invited government officials, university scholars and young leaders from three northern provinces of South Africa to come to Henan for a 21-day training. The trainees will conduct on-the-spot research in first-tier cities, relevant localities, agencies, universities and enterprises in Henan in order to better understand China and promote exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.
