On June 19, Niels Peter Thomas, President of Springer Nature (Greater China) and President of Springer Nature's Global Book Business, leading a group of 8 personnels, visited HENU for exchanges. He and his entourage met with by President Suojiang Zhang and Vice President Lixin Zhang. The meeting was attended by heads from Development and Planning Office, Discipline Construction Office, Talent and Personnel Department, Science and Technology Research Institute, the library, relevant heads of schools and teacher representatives.

At the meeting, Lixin Zhang introduced HENU’s major progress in recent years in terms of faculty and scientific research. He expressed that HENU would strengthen cooperation with Springer Nature, the world-leading academic publishing company, in scientific research & innovation, talent introduction and book publishing.

Niels Peter Thomas gave a comprehensive overview of the vision, business and institutional cooperation of Springer Nature. He expressed his desire to carry out more extensive and in-depth strategic cooperation with HENU. Later, the participants had a full discussion on academic paper publishing, and the editing and review of books.

Suojiang Zhang suggested to have a full discussion on the possibility of expanding the cooperation into wider range of fields, including talent recruitment, training and editing, utilization and service of academic resource, and publishing of journal, books and papers. He hoped that the two parties could sign a strategic cooperation agreement to further improve the ability of scientific research and innovation, as well as academic and international influence of HENU.
