Topic: Mathematical Modeling and Numerical Methods for Image Segmentation Based on Cahn-Hilliard Equation

Speaker: Prof. Zhongyi Huang, Tsinghua University

Time: 10:00, July 8th, 2022

Tencent meeting ID: 274-418-857

Sponsor: School of Mathematics and Statistics, HENU

Report summary: In this talk, we propose some new models for image segmentation based on Cahn-Hilliard equation. We then employ the tailored-finite-point method (TFPM), to solve the associated equation based on variational principle. Numerical experiments are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed models and its features.

Profile: Zhongyi Huang is a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Mathematical Science of Tsinghua University. He is mainly engaged in the research of modeling, analysis and solution of multi-scale mathematical physics problems.
